We keep so many of the photographs we take hidden away in our phones and on our hard-drives, yet there is nothing better than looking at one of your favourite photographs, beautifully printed up and mounted, in real life. This week the Dawlish & Teignmouth Photographic Club celebrated exactly this feeling of joy with a Print Competition. Each club member entered up to three prints and on Wednesday night Holcombe village Hall became a gallery, packed full of large prints in a glorious display covering a huge variety of topics and themes.
Gordon Aspland, an established photographer and judge from Newton Abbot Photographic Club, had the impossible task of critiquing and judging all of the prints live on the night. Much discussion was had and with each print being of such high standard he had a hard time choosing his winners. Congratulations go to photographers Bob Normand, Tony Wilson, Eddie Holden, Pete Forster, Nigel West and Ken Holland for their winning prints.
The Dawlish & Teignmouth Photographic Club shares a love of images and enjoys good company. It is open to anyone with an interest in photography whether complete beginner or experienced pro, have lots of gear or a phone-camera in your pocket, and even people who just love talking about photography.
