Members of the Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club are getting ready for the start of the new season, which promises a packed programme of interesting guest speakers talking about a variety of photographic genres. There are also four competitions throughout the year, as well as special skills nights and outdoor photographic challenges. The Wednesday evening club nights will be delivered through Zoom until it is possible to meet up in person at Holcombe Village Hall.
Although the Club’s season runs from September to May, there were lots of themed challenges and activities during the summer months which saw members getting creative with their cameras. One of the evening get-togethers at Dawlish Warren coincided with an exciting rescue demonstration by a dozen or so lifeguards to raise money for the RNLI, thereby giving members the opportunity to hone their action photography skills.
If you have an interest in photography and are thinking of joining the club, you can find more information on our New Members/Thinking of joining page. You can also have a look at the Galleries to see a wonderful variety of images taken by members in response to in-club challenges and set topics.
Dawlish's Great Big Green Week (18th to 26th September 2021)
On the subject of themed photography, the Club is proud to support Dawlish’s Great Big Green Week (18-26 September 2021) by running a photographic competition for people to enter their photos on an environmental theme. See information about the photo competition. The winners will be presented with a framed A4 print of their image.
