Winners with their images (L to R) - Leslie Cooper, Paul Lawson, Nigel West, Barry Holmes, Bob Normand, Denise Searle, Peter Hyatt, Tony Wilson, Ken Holland, Kevin McDonagh and Graham Eteson
Exmouth-based photographer, Peter Hyett (ARPS), made a welcome return to the Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club when he judged the prints for the Club’s 5th Open Competition.
He had previously stepped in to save the day some months ago when a fellow judge had to cancel due to illness.
Peter delivered his commentary with good humour and demonstrated his breadth of knowledge and a good eye for detail across a diverse range of subject matter, including images of African wildlife, vintage vehicles, street photography and a mix of landscapes. His critique on composition and cropping was insightful, as was his suggestions for minor improvements, which could be made if the image was taken again.
The awards for the Monochrome category:
Gold - Ken Holland, Tony Wilson, Kevin McDonagh
Silver – Paul Lawson, Tony Wilson, Denise Searle
Bronze – Leslie Cooper, Kevin McDonagh
The awards for the Colour category:

Silver – Nigel West, Graham Eteson, Barry Holmes, Leslie Cooper

Club Member, Howard Sheard, thanked Peter for doing a great job with the judging and for making it an enjoyable evening.
