An evening with Mac

Professional photographer, Mac Bourchere, FRPS, was back by popular demand at the Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club on 31st January this year for an inspirational talk, the theme of which was to take photos of what pleases you – not what the judges want.

Mac’s refreshing outlook to ‘have a go’ and experiment with new approaches – such as shooting at a set speed of 1/6 second to see what happens - with waves, moving vehicles and people walking - was well received by members of the club.

He presented a variety of digital images amassed over the past four decades to illustrate the changes in photography, but also how traditional ways were being given a new slant.

He then shared some of the post processing techniques he has applied using Topaz software and again encouraged people to try new things to make the images their own.

Club member, Ken Holland, warmly thanked Mac for a most enjoyable evening.

If you are interested in joining the Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club, just come along on a Wednesday evening.
