A couple of Bobbie dazzlers

DAWLISH & TEIGNMOUTH CAMERA CLUB

Through the magic of video communications technology, Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club were able to go ahead with the Chairman’s Challenge competition whilst the club is effectively in lockdown. Exmouth based photographer, Ian Bateman FRPS, did an admirable job of critiquing the images and announcing the winners through the video link to members in their own homes.

Ian truthfully admitted that the set subject of ‘Guilty Pleasures’ was a particularly difficult one to judge, but gave credit to those photographers who had purposefully set up their shots in order to meet the brief. Club member, Bob Kent, scooped two Silver Awards with his wry images – both of which topically featured a bottle of Corona beer. Another winning ‘Bob’ was Bobbie Smith who won not one, but two Gold Awards for her images.

A total of nine awards were given and all the images can be viewed in the Guilty Pleasures gallery >>

The winners:

Gold – Bobbie Smith x 2

Silver – Bob Kent x 2

Bronze – Jay Richards, Ken Holland, Elaine Smerdon

Highly Commended – Naomi Stolow, Elaine Smerdon

Competition Secretary, Dave Hutton, thanked Ian for his efforts in going ahead with the competition judging and presenting the awards - and members showed their appreciation with a round of applause.
