Eyes in the sky - an evening about drone photography

Writer: Naomi Stolow Naomi Stolow

On Wednesday evening Dawlish and Teignmouth camera club enjoyed an evening with Alan Edwards of SKYPRO Productions.

Registered with the Civil Aviation Authority, Alan is authorised to pilot drones as a way of photographing wildlife, aerial panoramas and sporting events.

He brought along two different drones for members to see and gave a detailed account of the way they operate, inviting questions from his audience. Interesting debates about the uses of drones and some exciting new developments he is working on.

During the second half of the meeting members were taken on a flight via a fabulous birds eye view of local locations - including Teignmouth, Shaldon, Exeter and some stunning footage of water skiing along the river Teign.

He also showcased some groundbreaking new technology using 360 degrees images and video that he is working on.

It was a hugely entertaining and thought provoking evening with a difference, enjoyed and appreciated by all.

New members are always welcome. Contact us here.
